Turkey is a country rich in minerals. Boron minerals, which constitute 72% of the world's reserves, take the first place. Apart from boron, trona (natural soda), rock salt, sodium sulphate, perlite, pumice, feldspar, bentonite, barite, magnesite, gypsum, strontium salts, zeolite, sepiolite, marble and natural stones, quartz, quartzite, emery stone Raw materials, metallic minerals such as bauxite and chromium and energy raw materials such as lignite are the main mines that our country has rich resources.

Production capacity increases rapidly with public and private investments in order to extract and process the mineral reserves of our country. ETİ Maden is one of the important establishments of our country regarding mines and it is a public institution. ETİ Maden operates in the extraction, processing and marketing of Boron. Other important mining enterprises are ETİ Bakır A.Ş., ETİ Krom A.Ş., ETİ Aluminyum A.Ş., Soda Sanayi A.Ş., Erdemir Madencilik A.Ş. and private organizations. Looking at the composition of export products in Turkey's chrome ore and zinc mining sectors are seen to take place in the first row with respectively 350 and 226 million US dollars of exports in 2019.
